Overview
Assistant Service Manager (ASM)/Lead Nurse Paediatric Intensive Care Unit role at Belfast Health and Social Care Trust.
Responsibilities
- Assist the Service Manager in the development, co-ordination and delivery of high quality service within RBHSC.
- Act as the conduit between the Service Manager and front line clinical teams, translating organisational and divisional objectives into operational reality and leading their implementation across the specialties of responsibility.
- Liaise closely with members of the multi-disciplinary team to improve channels of communication, maximise utilisation of resources, and promote continuity and co-ordination of the services within their sphere of responsibility.
- Undertake operational responsibility for the whole of RBHSC on a rota basis as ‘Manager of the Day’.
- Join a Senior Manager on Call rota for RBHSC.
- Champion and support the PICU sisters, charge nurses and team leaders to implement corporate wide initiatives.
- Lead on specific components of strategic planning.
- Provide strong clear clinical and non-clinical leadership.
- Inspire, motivate, empower and oversee the co-ordination of all staff within their span of control.
- Demonstrate a consistent focus on improving the quality of patient care and experience.
- Develop staff and practice, working closely with educational and training facilities.
- Engage with the wider community to promulgate best practice and represent the organisation on local and regional working groups where appropriate for specialty and service developments.
