We have an exciting opportunity to work as a Support Administrator with strong audio typist skills within Belfast Harbour Police. The successful candidate will be responsible for general administrative duties including audio & copy typing of evidential materials to enable preparation of cases for the Police Prosecution Service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide high quality and accurate administrative support to Belfast Harbour Police
  • Prepare draft letters and emails, proof reading and drafting responses to correspondence
  • Managing workflow, by monitoring and interpreting incoming documents and requests, routing correspondence and maintaining action registers
  • Provide general administrative support, such as scanning, filing, minute taking, maintaining and distribution of documents
  • Transcribe audio recordings, including interviews and emergency calls
  • Perform copy typing of reports, statements and other legal documents
  • Data Protection management including updating electronic records
  • Provide support and cover for the Police Administrative Support Officer

Essential Criteria

  • This is a rewarding role that will require commitment and enthusiasm.
  • 5 GCSE's including English and Mathematics or equivalent
  • A minimum of 1 year's recent office management/administration experience
  • Highly developed and accurate typing, word processing and audio transcription skills
  • Typing speed of 60wpm or above
  • A good knowledge of the English language, spelling and grammar
  • The ability to manage and prioritise work according to deadlines
  • Discretion and ability to handle sensitive information
  • Proficient in the use of various MS Office suite of programs, including Word, Outlook, Excel, SharePoint & Teams
  • Excellent attention to detail
