Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the safe, efficient, and effective day-to-day operation of Belfast Marina, ensuring alignment with port operational priorities.
  • Coordinate and control vessel movements within the marina and its approaches, including berth allocation, traffic planning, and customer liaison.
  • Supervise and support marina personnel, ensuring appropriate resourcing, task allocation, and high standards of performance and conduct.
  • Ensure full compliance with all Health, Safety, Security and Environmental (HSSE) policies, procedures, and legislation, promoting a strong safety culture across marina operations.
  • Maintain and continuously improve environmental standards to support the achievement and retention of Blue Flag status.

Essential Criteria

  • Full UK Driving Licence for a manual car
  • A relevant health and safety qualification e.g. H&S in the Workplace or NEBOSH
  • Relevant Boat Handling Qualification recognised by the MCA or RYA e.g. Minimum of RYA Power Boat Level 2 or BWSF Boat Driver Level 2
  • At least 2 years' experience of working within a marina or yachting/boating company/organisation
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in a customer facing role
  • Significant and recent boat handling experience
  • Be able to demonstrate a sound working knowledge and aptitude of Microsoft Office.
  • Delivers a quality service within agreed standards and targets
  • Capable of climbing quayside and beacon ladders
  • Capable of operating in an exposed environment during all seasons and inclement weather conditions.

Desirable Criteria

  • First Aid Certificate
  • VHF Short Range or GMDSS Certificate
  • Environmental management qualification
  • STCW Fire Fighting & Sea Survival
  • Experience of, or an aptitude for, supervisory responsibility preferably in a marina or yachting/boating environment
  • Local knowledge of Belfast Port and associated operations
  • Hold an ML5 or equivalent medical certificate.
