The predicted salary is between 800 - 1400 £ per month.

Throughout the apprenticeship, you will actively contribute to the success of our well-established engineering maintenance team, gaining practical knowledge in electrical and mechanical systems. Enhance your communication and interpersonal skills through regular interactions with technicians, shift leads, asset engineers and third-party customers. Guided by experienced engineering shift leads, you'll tackle real-world challenges, working on diverse equipment like harbour cranes, ferry ramps, pilot boats, HV infrastructure and wastewater pumping stations. This hands-on experience sets the stage for potential progression into engineering roles and a journey of skills development and professional growth; all whilst achieving a recognised qualification.

Key Responsibilities

  • Acquire proficiency in executing scheduled preventative maintenance for all port equipment within a specified deferral period.
  • Address corrective maintenance tasks identified through PPMs in adherence to established standard operating procedures (SOP's).
  • Promptly respond to equipment breakdowns as needed, ensuring timely and effective resolution and learning from the experience.
  • Effective communication with third party customers to relay information and updates on maintenance and breakdown activities.
  • Attend technical college on a day release basis.
  • Completing assigned tasks and coursework within specified timescales.
  • Follow all Health & Safety and quality standards closely as an apprentice, making sure to fully comply with all relevant guidelines in every aspect of your assigned tasks.
  • Undertake additional tasks as required and appropriate in an engineering apprentice role.
  • You may also be required to work various shifts based on operational needs.

Essential Criteria

  • A minimum of 5 GCSE's at grade C or above (or equivalent) including Maths, English and a Science related subject.
  • Full driving Licence for a manual car.

Desirable Criteria

  • GCSE in ICT at grade C or above.
