EXAM SCRIBE/ READER
£12.71 (+£2.11 holiday pay) per hour - £14.82 per hour total.
Part time hours to be agreed during exam times (public and internal examinations) - casual contract.
Required November 2026.

At Belfairs Academy, we are looking for Exam Scribes/Readers to support students who require assistance during examinations. The role involves:

Reading examination questions and instructions aloud clearly and accurately, as permitted by the candidate’s access arrangements.

Writing or typing candidates’ dictated answers accurately, without changing their meaning.

Supporting candidates calmly and patiently, without prompting or helping them to answer questions.

Ensuring candidates have an equal opportunity to demonstrate their knowledge and abilities.

Maintaining confidentiality and following examination regulations and the instructions of the Exams Officer.
Previous experience as an Exam Scribe/Reader is not required, as full training will be provided. Applicants should have strong literacy and communication skills, attention to detail and a patient, supportive approach.
