Your Tasks
- Providing Senior Project Management and personnel leadership for ICP contestable grid connection projects associated with Solar PV and Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) in the UK, ensuring delivery of HV/LV infrastructure from design through commissioning while maintaining compliance with DNO requirements, NERS accreditation, and industry standards.
- Lead the end-to-end delivery of ICP contestable grid connection projects, including design, construction, and commissioning of HV/LV infrastructure.
- Coordinate effectively with DNOs, IDNOs, clients, ICP partners, subcontractors, and technical advisors to ensure successful grid connection.
- Provide mentorship, benefit of experience, and technical expertise to wider Project Management team and colleagues to ensure effective project delivery.
- Identify team development needs and address in collaboration with Director of Project Management & Construction.
- Assess business processes and identify process gaps or areas for improvement. Drive continuous improvement within project delivery.
- Provide experience and expertise to mitigate and overcome challenges encountered during project delivery.
- Effectively assess commercial and contractual risk.
- Act as an initial point of contact with other PMs to provide support and input.
- Maintain strong professional networks across the ICP and wider renewable energy industry.
- Site visits to undertake construction feasibility assessments, monitor construction progress, reviewing works against quality and contractual requirements in order to identify any deviations from scope of works.
- Plan and coordinate all Site Acceptance, Commissioning Tests, and DNO handover/energisation.
- Represent the Employer with key stakeholders, including Clients, ICPs, DNOs, Subcontractors, Landowners, OEMs, and Technical Advisors.
- Manage key project resources including engineering teams, on-site quality managers, subcontractors, and suppliers.
- Ensure the highest HSQE standards are always maintained and in compliance with UK HSE and CDM regulations. Drive a positive HSE culture amongst the team.
- Support the preparation of project tender information. Additionally, support the preparation of subcontractor or suppliers’ specifications and scope of works for contracting.
- Prepare progress reports and take ownership of project budget reporting.
- Ensure all necessary project documentation is prepared and maintained.
- Ensure full compliance with NERS accreditation, DNO requirements, and ENA G81 standards throughout project delivery.
- Identify and escalate any risks to budget, programme, or quality across the UK project portfolio.
