Job Description
Belcan are looking for a Team Lead Stress Engineer based in either Derby or Glasgow.\\n\\nAre you an experienced Stress Engineer, used to leading teams of other Stress Engineers and want to work on new technology for Gas Turbines?\\n\\nThe team leader will be the direct supervisor for the engineers assigned to their team with a strong focus on engineering delivery and quality, providing a focal for technical governance and support to the team.\\n\\nKey Responsibilities\\n\\nConduct detailed stress analysis (static, fatigue, creep, vibration) on rotatives such as discs, shafts, and blades.\\nUtilize FEA tools (ANSYS, ABAQUS) and classical hand calculations to validate designs.\\nSupport lifing assessments and damage tolerance evaluations in compliance with FAR/EASA certification standards.\\nCollaborate with cross-functional teams in design, materials, and manufacturing to optimize component performance.\\nPrepare and present technical documentation and stress reports for internal and external stakeholders, including airworthiness authorities. \\n\\nEssential Skills & Experience\\n\\nDegree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering, with a focus on rotating machinery.\\nStrong proficiency in FEA and fatigue/fracture mechanics.\\nFamiliarity with aeroengine lifing methodologies and service experience data.\\nExperience with high-temperature materials and centrifugal stress analysis. \\n\\nWhat's in it for you if you join?\\n\\nWe offer a competitive base salary, work/life balance, continuous personal development and training, pension scheme, life assurance, 25 days of holiday + BH, 24/7 mental health hotline / online GP, discounted gym membership, virtual physio / gym classes, access to nutritional advice, discounted eye care, and free financial advice service.
