Detention Engagement Officer - Strathaven, Scotland
Contract role (length TBC, likely 6 months+) | IR35: Inside
We're hiring for a Detention Engagement Officer position based in Strathaven, Scotland. This is a fully office-based opportunity with our client, offering the chance to play a vital role in resident engagement, communication and case progression within a secure operational environment.
Key Responsibilities
- conduct face-to-face resident engagements, including inductions and assessments, while ensuring clear communication regarding processes, expectations, and available options
- manage a portfolio of residents
- provide case updates
- accurately record interactions on internal systems
- work closely with suppliers and stakeholders
- identify and manage vulnerability indicators in line with policy
- support administrative activities such as inbox management and telephone enquiries
- contribute to management reporting
- escalated issues appropriately when required
Requirements
Essential Skills & Experience
- Successful applicants must meet eligibility requirements to obtain CTC level of Clearance (Counter Terrorism Clearance)
- Disclosure Scotland Enhanced non barred or DBS Enhanced non barred
- Ability to manage challenging situations professionally
- Leadership potential and confidence when engaging with a range of stakeholders
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel
- Personal Safety Training Level 2, SPEAR training
- Full availability to work rotating shifts
- Ability to travel independently to the site location (no public transport available)
Desirable
- Previous experience within resident engagement, customer-facing, operational, public sector or case management environments
- Experience maintaining accurate records and case notes
Working Pattern
This Detention Engagement Officer role is 100% office based and full-time. The position requires flexibility to work early and late shifts across weekdays, weekends and public holidays. Weekend working is expected on a 1-in-3 rota basis.
