Location: Filton (60% onsite)
Contract: Until April 2027 (possible extension)
Hours: 35 hours per week (4.5 days, flexible between 7am–7pm)
Rate: £40.00 per hour Umbrella / £29.89 per hour PAYE

The Opportunity
Our client is seeking an experienced Project Manager / Programme Manager to join their Configuration Management team, supporting a major widebody aircraft programme. This is a fantastic opportunity to take ownership of complex engineering change activities, working across multiple business functions and suppliers to ensure successful delivery from concept through to implementation.
The Role
You will act as a Project Change Leader (PCL), managing a portfolio of engineering changes impacting aircraft wing structures. Key responsibilities include:
- Leading and coordinating multi-functional teams across engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, procurement and finance
- Managing the full lifecycle of engineering change requests from initiation through to implementation
- Building and maintaining detailed project dossiers covering cost, risk, schedule, technical and manufacturing impacts
- Driving alignment across stakeholders to resolve issues, mitigate risks and ensure delivery
- Ensuring changes are delivered on time, within budget and to quality standards
- Reporting progress, risks and performance through business reviews
- Identifying risks and opportunities and implementing recovery or mitigation plans
- Supporting continuous improvement within configuration management processes
About You
We’re looking for a strong communicator and experienced project leader who thrives in a complex engineering environment. You will have:
- Proven experience in project or programme management, ideally within aerospace or engineering
- Experience with engineering change or configuration management processes
- Strong stakeholder management skills and ability to influence across multiple teams
- Good understanding of project delivery, risk management and lifecycle management
- Ability to manage multiple workstreams and prioritise effectively
- Engineering knowledge (airframe or similar highly desirable)
- A proactive and solutions-focused mindset
