The Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced Quality Manager to join a major UK infrastructure programme at the Substation site in Kent. This is a high-profile role supporting a large, highly regulated energy project, working closely with senior project leadership and international stakeholders. Reporting functionally to the Head of Quality and operationally to the Project Director/Senior Project Manager, you will act as the quality subject matter expert.
Role Summary
The Quality Manager is responsible for expediting and assuring quality management across the full project lifecycle. You will advise senior leadership, manage quality resources, and support work package managers. This role supports UK-side operations only.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and monitor quality assurance and inspection resources on the project
- Act as the primary customer interface for all quality-related matters, ensuring effective issue closure
- Manage external quality interfaces (e.g. regulatory, registration and industry bodies)
- Support work package managers with failure prevention, NCR closure, CAPA, and quality issue resolution
- Plan and manage audits, inspections, lessons learned, and continuous improvement activities
- Identify qualification gaps and implement training in methodologies such as FMEA, risk analysis, root cause analysis, 8D, and process awareness
Essential Experience & Qualifications
- National Gas Persons (or equivalent)
- 7+ years’ experience in a senior operational quality role within a project environment
- Significant experience working in highly regulated industries (e.g. Nuclear, Energy, Utilities, HVDC, Substations, Aerospace, Defence, Automotive)
- Experience supporting large infrastructure projects within matrix organisations
- Chartered Quality Professional, or similar - Desirable
- CDM or IOSH Managing Safely - Desirable
Additional Requirements
- Willingness to travel UK-wide
- Full UK driving licence
- DBS check required upon selection
