Our Client, an Engineering company, are seeking an EC&I Design Engineer for a contract position in Reading - Burghfield location. This role is placed within Nuclear, Oil & Gas, Construction or highly regulated industry. Must be eligible to obtain SC clearance as a minimum.
As an EC&I engineer - Electrical Controls and Instrumentation Design Engineer, you will assist in the delivery of an ongoing M&E - Mechanical & Electrical package in a nuclear environment near Reading.
Key Aims & Objectives- Support project managers to ensure outsourced EC&I design meets requirement.
- Ensure EC&I project scope is satisfied efficiently and effectively.
- Strict adherence to customers specification and standards.
- Review issued design and process documents.
- Managing and outsourcing of EC&I design and work alongside design engineers to ensure designs are fit for purpose and identify design solutions.
- Peer review of sub-contractor produced drawings and documentation.
- Raise and manage Technical Queries, witnessing factory acceptance tests and projects sign off.
- Supporting the scheduling and tasking information to the Lead Engineers and Project Managers to support project delivery.
- Minimum of a Degree, HNC/HND in Electrical Engineering or similar.
- Preferable experience from Nuclear or highly regulated industries.
- Able to approach engineering challenges, working with electrical engineers to ensure the integrated design realises the operational requirements of the specification.
- Able to use 2D drawing package, preferably AutoCAD, and understanding of all phases of a project life cycle.
- Working knowledge of principles of electrical safety, such as the 18th Edition and BS EN 13849.
- Able to interpret detailed technical specifications, conversant in pertinent standards.
- Technical writing, Awareness of PLCs, ECS Card.
- Preferably with experience within an ISO 9001 environment.
