Our client, an engineering company, is seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor for a permanent position in the Bridgewater location. This role sits within the industrial services or engineering sector or a highly regulated industry. All white-collar staff starting on site will need either a CCNSG or CSCS MAPS or Operatives access.
Role
The Quantity Surveyor is responsible for undertaking specific commercial activities under the supervision of the Commercial Manager/Senior Quantity Surveyor to ensure margins are maintained and risks are managed.
Responsibilities
- Be responsible for the management of commercial activities on site.
- Ensure the timely submission of Early Warning Notices (EWNs), Cost EXCEEdences (CEs) and other notifications under the Contract. Maintain registers for contractual notifications.
- Prepare quotations for CEs once agreed in principle and support drafting and negotiation of subcontracts, applications for payment, and preparing contractual programmes.
- Contract administration of subcontractors and suppliers. Support valuation, application and invoicing process and the review and certification processes of subcontractor accounts.
Experience
- NEC3/NEC4 experience
- Experience working for a main contractor or subcontractor
- Experience of the industrial services/engineering sector
- Evidence of risk and change management
- Previous experience in a post-grad Quantity Surveyor role
- Minimum HNC/Degree or equivalent in quantity surveying or similar
- Proficient in Excel, Word and other Microsoft suites
- Mandatory to operate on site: CCNSG or CSCS MAPS or Operatives
Desirable: Membership of an appropriate professional body such as RICS
