Client: Energy Windpower

Contract Length: 12 months

IR35: Outside IR35 (£37.00 - £40.00 per hour)

Location: Remote

Working Hours: 37 hours per week

The Role

Energy Windpower client is currently seeking a Senior Commercial Project Manager to join its Onshore Service team. This role will act as a key commercial business partner to Operations management, supporting multiple onshore wind projects across a geographical hub typically 15-30 sites/windfarms. You will own full commercial accountability for your hub, working closely with internal stakeholders and customers to drive performance, profitability, and compliance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Full Profit and loss and balance sheet ownership for assigned projects/hub
  • Monthly cost control, forecasting, and budget management with a focus on accuracy
  • Identify, manage, and report commercial risks and opportunities
  • Maintain and report risk registers and non-conformance costs
  • Monitor and analyse KPIs: Availability, Corrective and service hours, Project spend and gross margins, Billings, receivables, and overdue management
  • Act as a trusted commercial partner to Operations, attending regular face-to-face meetings where required
  • Prepare and present monthly performance reports to senior management
  • Resolve day-to-day commercial issues with a focus on profitability and customer satisfaction
  • Support tender and sales phases, including contract drafting and T&Cs
  • Ensure robust business modelling, forecasting (ETCs), and reporting controls

Qualifications

  • Qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA or equivalent)
  • Proven experience in project-related commercial roles, ideally within the energy or renewable sector
  • Demonstrable experience in: Project controlling, Risk and opportunity management, Currency management, IFRS-based accounting principles
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong IT capability, including: SAP and Microsoft Office suite (including Power BI)

Newcastle (1 day in office - Thursday) - but this is not mandatory
