We are recruiting a Manufacturing IT OR OT Support Technician to support a leading Energy-sector manufacturing site in Worcester. This is a hands-on, site-based role to ensure secure, reliable, and standardised digital operations across production systems, supporting both local initiatives and global digitalisation programmes.

Role Purpose

The Manufacturing IT/OT Support Technician role focuses on IT/OT system support, network connectivity, and industrial cybersecurity. Working within a small technical team, you will support manufacturing operations while contributing to wider digitalisation initiatives. You will support and maintain IT and operational technology systems in a manufacturing environment and cybersecurity for production operations while working closely with engineering and IT teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide hands-on IT/OT support for manufacturing systems and production environments
  • Support IT/OT projects, ensuring alignment with global standards and cybersecurity requirements
  • Maintain secure OT network connectivity, including vendor and external equipment
  • Collaborate with engineering, operations, and IT teams to maximise uptime and performance
  • Support IT Technical User Support activities, including holiday cover
  • Assist with asset management, documentation, and business continuity planning

Experience and Qualifications Required

  • Degree in Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline
  • Experience in a technical support role, ideally within industrial manufacturing or Energy-sector OT environments
  • Good understanding of troubleshooting and IT networking fundamentals
  • Awareness of cybersecurity frameworks and industrial cybersecurity standards

Preferred

  • Experience with IOT connectivity (e.g. OPC UA)
  • Exposure to cloud platforms such as AWS Connected Factory
  • Familiarity with OT equipment including PLCs, HMIs, and industrial sensors
