Belcan are currently working with a leading manufacturing/engineering client, to support them with their search for a Maintenance Manager. They are looking for a Maintenance Manager to join them on a 12 month contract, with a very high possibility of extension.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and lead daily pulse meetings, presenting updates on Safety, Quality, Velocity, and Cost metrics.
- Monitor and report on maintenance KPIs, including planned maintenance work orders completion within the month, overdue work orders, and scheduling based on equipment criticality metrics.
- Develop and implement preventive and predictive maintenance strategies.
- Ensure timely execution of work orders and allocate resources effectively.
- Create action plans to address gaps in maintenance performance.
- Lead ongoing improvement projects to enhance equipment reliability and reduce downtime.
- Implement Lean, 5S, and Six Sigma principles within maintenance processes.
- Identify and eliminate non-value-added activities to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
- Manage and develop a team of maintenance technicians and support staff.
- Build and maintain a skills matrix to align competencies with tasks.
- Create and monitor training plans to upskill team members.
- Foster engagement through coaching, recognition, and clear communication.
- Work closely with production, quality, and safety teams to resolve issues and implement corrective actions.
- Ensure alignment with corporate initiatives such as CQMS/ISO certification.
- Maintain a safe work environment by enforcing safety standards and eliminating hazards.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
Skills & Experience
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Proven experience in maintenance planning and execution within a manufacturing environment.
- Knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Ability to analyse data and make decisions based on KPIs.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and maintenance management systems (CMMS).
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including overtime and alternate shifts.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in developing training programs and competency frameworks.
- Familiarity with reliability-centered maintenance (RCM) and criticality analysis.
- Prior experience managing teams and experience with maintenance operations.
- Level 3 equivalent qualification in engineering (Ie City & Guilds).
