Location: Desford - On Site, 4.5 days per week

Full Time: 35 Hours Per Week

Belcan are currently working with a leading manufacturing/engineering client, to support them with their search for a Maintenance Manager. They are looking for a Maintenance Manager to join them on a 12 month contract, with a very high possibility of extension.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and lead daily pulse meetings, presenting updates on Safety, Quality, Velocity, and Cost metrics.
  • Monitor and report on maintenance KPIs, including planned maintenance work orders completion within the month, overdue work orders, and scheduling based on equipment criticality metrics.
  • Develop and implement preventive and predictive maintenance strategies.
  • Ensure timely execution of work orders and allocate resources effectively.
  • Create action plans to address gaps in maintenance performance.
  • Lead ongoing improvement projects to enhance equipment reliability and reduce downtime.
  • Implement Lean, 5S, and Six Sigma principles within maintenance processes.
  • Identify and eliminate non-value-added activities to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Manage and develop a team of maintenance technicians and support staff.
  • Build and maintain a skills matrix to align competencies with tasks.
  • Create and monitor training plans to upskill team members.
  • Foster engagement through coaching, recognition, and clear communication.
  • Work closely with production, quality, and safety teams to resolve issues and implement corrective actions.
  • Ensure alignment with corporate initiatives such as CQMS/ISO certification.
  • Maintain a safe work environment by enforcing safety standards and eliminating hazards.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.

Skills & Experience

  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Proven experience in maintenance planning and execution within a manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Ability to analyse data and make decisions based on KPIs.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and maintenance management systems (CMMS).
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including overtime and alternate shifts.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in developing training programs and competency frameworks.
  • Familiarity with reliability-centered maintenance (RCM) and criticality analysis.
  • Prior experience managing teams and experience with maintenance operations.
  • Level 3 equivalent qualification in engineering (Ie City & Guilds).
