The Role
Our client is seeking an experienced Supply Chain Quality Manager to join their team on a long-term contract based in Filton. This role has a strong quality focus rather than pure supply chain, and will suit someone confident working autonomously, engaging directly with suppliers, and driving on-time, on-quality delivery. You will play a key role across New Product Introduction and serial production, acting as a focal point for supplier quality, performance, risk management, and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead supplier quality activities to ensure on-time and on-quality delivery
- Manage supplier compliance and maturity, including surveillance plans and risk portfolios
- Act as a key interface between suppliers and internal stakeholders
- Support and lead supplier audits, reviews, and assessments
- Drive root cause analysis and corrective actions using PPS methodologies (8D, 9S, 5 Whys, Ishikawa)
- Support transfer of work activities and supplier development initiatives
- Raise, track, and escalate risks, issues, and actions where required
- Contribute to procurement strategy, supplier approval, and contract setup where needed
- Ensure manufacturing non-conformances and concessions are effectively managed
Skills & Experience Required
- Proven experience in Supply Chain Quality or Quality Management (experience valued over qualifications)
- Strong background working with suppliers in a regulated / industrial environment
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Solid understanding of quality tools and methodologies (APQP, FAI, audits, control plans preferred)
- Experience supporting audits and compliance activities
- Flexibility to travel occasionally within Europe
