Are you passionate about delivering high-quality design solutions within shipbuilding? Belcan is seeking Outfit Designers at Junior through to Senior level to join our Naval team, supporting complex marine engineering projects. This is a fantastic opportunity to develop and apply your expertise in design and detailing within a collaborative and technically challenging shipbuilding environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Outfit Design & Documentation: Produce 2D/3D models including compartment design, integration of equipment, ship's access and escape equipment, insulation, paint, deck coverings, and technical documentation using industry-standard CAD tools. Develop clear and accurate design outputs to support fabrication and installation.
  • Project Delivery: Deliver design work in line with project schedules, budgets, and customer requirements. Identify and communicate design risks, changes, and efficiency improvements.
  • Collaboration & Development: Work closely with internal teams and external stakeholders to resolve technical challenges. Contribute to a collaborative engineering environment across Belcan's global network. For junior candidates: receive mentoring and development support. For senior candidates: provide technical guidance and support to junior team members.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Experience in outfit design within a marine / shipbuilding environment:
    • Junior: some relevant experience or strong academic/project background
    • Mid-level: proven industry experience
    • Senior: significant experience with ability to lead or mentor
  • Proficiency in CAD software for shipbuilding design and detailing (preferably Foran).
  • Understanding of marine standards and best practices is highly desirable.
