Are you ready to take ownership of critical marine hydraulic systems and make a real impact across complex vessels? We are seeking a Contract Senior Marine Engineer (Hydraulics) to lead, optimise, and safeguard the operation of vital onboard systems-ensuring reliability, safety, and peak performance in demanding environments. Duration of the contract will be dependent on the project need and its requirements.

What You'll Do

  • Lead technical oversight of hydraulic systems including steering gear, cranes, winches, stabilisers, and deck machinery
  • Diagnose and resolve complex system faults, driving preventative and corrective solutions
  • Act as the technical authority for hydraulic schematics, system upgrades, and modifications
  • Oversee commissioning, testing, and sea trials for new and upgraded systems
  • Ensure performance meets Class, statutory, and client standards

Your Expertise

  • Strong background in high-pressure hydraulic and electrohydraulic systems
  • Fault finding (including servo & proportional controls)
  • Hydraulic oil analysis, condition monitoring & reliability improvement
  • Working knowledge of PLC-integrated systems
  • Experience with PMS and maintenance optimisation
