Role Purpose
The AIT Skilled Production Technician is responsible for manufacturing the next generation of HAPS Zephyr aircraft and associated Ground Support Equipment, delivering to strict time, cost, and quality targets in support of the organisation's global business objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Installation of avionic and mechanical equipment, wiring, and system integrations on advanced UAV platforms.
- Manufacture of in-house avionic components to high quality standards.
- Completion and maintenance of accurate build records and documentation.
- Adherence to Health & Safety processes, including proactive reporting.
- Self-certification of completed work to ensure compliance and traceability.
- Contribution to continuous improvement initiatives across production systems.
- Participation in problem-solving activities and corrective action implementation.
- Safe handling and protection of delicate, lightweight, and highly specialised components.
Required Experience & Skills
- Hands-on, multi-skilled avionic/electronic engineering technician experience.
- Proven background in the production or maintenance of avionic hardware and wiring installations.
- Strong understanding of high-quality production and maintenance processes.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings and translate requirements into completed products.
- Demonstrated experience in proactive technical problem-solving.
- Quality-focused working style with strong organisational skills.
- Experience conducting and recording installation and system integration tests.
Preferred Qualifications
- NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Aeronautical, Avionic, or Electronic Engineering.
- Time-served apprenticeship in avionic/electronic manufacture, installation, or test.
- Previous experience within the aerospace sector.
- IT skills appropriate for production, documentation, and reporting tasks.
