EC&I – Cyber Security Specialist Inspector

Belcan Workforce Solutions is recruiting for Specialist Inspectors to join a national team ensuring the safety of major hazard installations across the UK. This is a unique opportunity to make a real impact in Electrical, Control, and Cyber Security at high-hazard sites.

  • Business Area: Chemical, Explosives and Microbiological Hazards Division – Onshore Chemical Division

Key responsibilities of the EC&I – Cyber Security Specialist Inspectors

  • Inspect major hazard sites to ensure compliance with safety regulations
  • Assess technical Safety Reports and investigate incidents involving industrial control systems
  • Produce technical inspection reports and take enforcement action where necessary
  • Provide expert advice on industrial control systems and electrical equipment in hazardous environments
  • Support legal proceedings as an expert witness when required
  • Liaise with industry, government, and professional bodies to share intelligence and promote best practice

What we’re looking for

  • Experience in a technical engineering role, ideally within major hazards or high-consequence environments
  • Strong communication skills, able to influence and present technical information to varied audiences
  • Proven ability to produce clear, detailed technical reports
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to identify and address underlying issues
  • Relevant degree in Electrical, Electronic, or Control Engineering
  • Chartered status with the IET or eligibility to achieve this
  • Full UK driving licence (reasonable adjustments considered)

Technical skills

  • Experience with process control and safety instrumented systems (SIS)
  • Practical knowledge of electrical equipment in explosive atmospheres (Ex)
  • Familiarity with industry standards such as BS EN 61511, BS EN 60079, or equivalent
  • Comprehensive training and ongoing professional development, including a Specialist Training Programme and support for cyber security expertise
