Location: Broughton (Onsite Requirement)
Contract Type: Temporary - 12 Months (Likely to be Extended)
Hours: 35 hours/week (4.5 days between 7am-7pm, flexible within business discretion)
Rate: Β£26.00/hour PAYE, Β£34.76/hour Umbrella
IR35 Status: Off-payroll working rules apply
Security Clearance: BPSS+ (to be completed by client security team)

Role Overview
A vacancy has arisen for a Design Quality Engineer to join a leading aerospace organisation. The successful candidate will work within the Quality Engineering Airframe Wing team, supporting quality performance activities across multiple programmes. This role involves interfacing with engineering teams and suppliers across Europe, America, and Asia.
You will be responsible for resolving quality issues and driving continuous improvement projects, focusing on process performance and product adherence to standards from the initial design phase through the product lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and deliver improvement projects to meet engineering quality targets
- Facilitate root cause analysis and practical problem-solving activities
- Develop and implement corrective and preventive action plans
- Identify and mitigate risks related to engineering deliverables
- Support deployment and application of quality standards within engineering
- Capture and apply lessons learned to improve efficiency and product maturity
Skills & Experience
- Solid background in Quality and/or Engineering
- Familiarity with project management and root cause analysis (e.g., 8D, 9S)
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficient in Google Workspace and Microsoft Office
- Understanding of FMEA, engineering drawings, and modification management
- Experience with PLM/PDM systems and design/manufacturing environments
- Programming knowledge (e.g., JavaScript, Python) and German language skills are a plus
