Belcan Workforce Solutions is seeking a Chemical Laboratory Technician to join a leading multinational oil and gas corporation based near Southampton. This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled technician to contribute to environmental monitoring and quality assurance in a dynamic industrial setting.
As a Chemical Laboratory Technician, you will be responsible for conducting routine and non-routine environmental analyses of plant effluent streams, including metals analysis using Atomic Absorption (AA), MBG testing, and various titration methods. You will also support incident response testing and ensure accurate data recording in compliance with standard operating procedures.
Key Responsibilities:- Perform wet chemistry and analytical testing on product and process samples for quality control.
- Prepare chemical reagents, stock solutions, and calibration standards.
- Operate and maintain analytical instruments such as AA, GC, and FTIR.
- Record and manage test data using Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS).
- Maintain a clean, safe, and compliant laboratory environment.
- Degree (or equivalent) in Chemistry, Engineering, or a related STEM field, or relevant laboratory experience.
- Proficiency in laboratory techniques and quality control systems.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Experience in environmental water analysis is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with AA spectroscopy, GC, FTIR, and titration methods is a strong advantage.
