An opportunity to work at the forefront of modern aircraft manufacturing. A leading global aircraft manufacturer is seeking a talented Stress Engineer to join the A220 Fuselage Analysis Engineering Team, working closely with the Plant Engineering group based in Belfast, UK. The team operates alongside the A220 fuselage assembly line, offering the rare chance to see the physical product evolve daily on the shop floor.

This dynamic group of Structural Engineers brings together technical specialists and engineering leaders who share a passion for solving complex structural challenges. Their work directly supports the performance, safety, and reliability of next‑generation aircraft.

About the Role

The Stress Engineer will operate within the Belfast Fuselage Plant Engineering Team, collaborating with experienced stress analysts to support production, resolve technical issues, and ensure structural integrity throughout the build process. As the Belfast Plant runs 24 hours a day, occasional shift work may be required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct static structural analysis on composite and metallic components.
  • Analyse and validate metallic, composite, and hybrid structures at component level for static strength and F&DT, producing accurate strength margins or reserve factors using approved engineering methods.
  • Provide stress assessments to support repair and acceptance of structural components.
  • Ensure all structural work complies with airworthiness and certification requirements.

Skills & Experience

  • Ideally, previous T400 Concessions Approval. Candidates without approval but with strong stress analysis and/or concessions experience are also encouraged.
  • Experience with commercial or military aircraft, or broader aerospace product knowledge.
