Risk Controller / Junior Risk Controller Location: Gloucester Contract Length: 12 months | IR35: Inside Pay Rate: Negotiable We're hiring for a Risk Controller / Junior Risk Controller opportunity supporting a major nuclear decommissioning programme. Working within our client's project controls team, you'll play a key role in identifying, assessing and managing project risks across a highly complex and nationally significant programme. This position is suitable for experienced Risk Controllers looking to further develop their career, as well as junior candidates with relevant project controls, planning, cost, engineering or analytical experience who are keen to specialise in risk management. Key Responsibilities As a Risk Controller, you'll work closely with Project Managers and project teams to identify risk exposure, evaluate both opportunities and threats, prioritise risks based on impact and likelihood, and support the development of effective risk strategies. You'll help establish and maintain project risk plans, facilitate risk reviews with key stakeholders, monitor mitigation activities, analyse risk performance against baselines, and ensure risk registers remain accurate and up to date. The Risk Controller will also collaborate with Cost Engineers, Estimators and Planning Engineers to support project delivery through robust risk management practices. Requirements Essential Understanding of risk management, project controls, planning, cost control, engineering or project delivery environments. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to communicate effectively with project teams and stakeholders. Experience working with project data, reporting or risk registers. Confident using Microsoft Office applications.Desirable Previous experience as a Risk Controller, Project Controls Engineer, Planner, Cost Engineer or similar. Experience within infrastructure, energy, nuclear, defence or major projects. Knowledge of qualitative and quantitative risk assessment techniques.
