Senior Stress Engineer

b Overview /b p In this role you will ensure the safety and performance of rotating components in gas turbines through advanced stress analysis. You will join a cross-functional stress team delivering validated designs and lifing assessments for aero engine components. You’ll work with industry-standard FEA tools to resolve technical challenges, mentor colleagues, and communicate results to stakeholders, including airworthiness authorities. This position offers hands-on impact in a global engineering environment and exposure to high-stakes, rotating machinery applications. /p b Pay / Benefits /b ul li competitive base salary /li li work/life balance /li li private medical insurance /li li pension scheme /li li life assurance /li li 25 days of holiday + bank holidays /li /ul b Responsibilities /b ul li Conduct detailed stress analyses (static, fatigue, creep, vibration) on rotatives such as discs, shafts and blades /li li Create FE meshes for analysis /li li Identify solutions and propose improvements or alternatives /li li Utilise FEA tools (ANSYS, ABAQUS) and hand calculations to validate designs /li li Collaborate with design, materials and manufacturing to optimise performance /li li Prepare and present technical documentation and stress reports for internal/external stakeholders (airworthiness authorities) /li li Provide mentoring / knowledge sharing to colleagues /li /ul b Key requirements /b ul li Degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering with a focus on rotating machinery /li li Experience with ANSYS Workbench and APDL /li li Experience with meshing software (NX or HyperMesh) /li li Experience with recognised FEA and fatigue software tools /li /ul ul li Strong communication to stakeholders /li li Ability to work independently on technical tasks /li li Mentoring and knowledge sharing /li li FEA and stress analysis /li li ANSYS Workbench /li li APDL /li /ul
