Our client is currently seeking an experienced Senior Planner to support a complex, highly regulated programme based full-time on site in Reading, UK.
Overview
The role offers the chance to operate at programme level, influencing business rhythms, supporting long-range operational planning and driving continuous improvement in planning processes, tools and governance. As a Senior Planner, you will be responsible for maintaining and developing the Integrated Master Schedule (IMS), ensuring schedule integrity and providing clear, accurate forecast information to support effective decision-making. You'll work closely with task managers, project managers and technical teams, embedding best-practice planning and Earned Value Management (EVM) across multiple projects.
Key Responsibilities
- You will provide project controls planning and EVM expertise, producing high-quality schedule forecasts and variance analysis to inform programme performance.
- The Senior Planner will lead planning engagement across project teams, running meetings to promote the value of effective scheduling and critical path analysis.
- You'll support the production of planning and EV deliverables in line with agreed business rhythms, contribute to the development of policies and procedures and help deploy planning tools, templates and training across the organisation.
- Building strong relationships with stakeholders and maintaining high standards in safety, quality and security will be central to the role.
Essential Skills & Experience
- Strong Primavera P6 experience
- Proven background as a skilled, proactive planner
- Solid understanding of planning fundamentals and critical path analysis
- Experience delivering EVM and schedule performance analysis (SPI)
- Ability to lead discussions and influence multidisciplinary teams
