A Material Support Specialist is required to join a high-performance operational support team responsible for ensuring the UK A400M fleet remains fully equipped, mission-ready, and able to meet its Maintenance and Flying Programme commitments. Working closely with MRO and P145 teams and reporting to the Material Demand Coordinator, the specialist will play a vital role in managing and escalating material demands across the fleet.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain operational oversight of all material requirements supporting maintenance and technical activities across the UK A400M fleet, both domestically and worldwide.
- Provide expert support during AOG events, contributing to recovery coordination and participating in global conference calls.
- Escalate critical AOG and Work Stop items, including depth maintenance parts and ADFs at risk.
- Liaise directly with the customer regarding MTP material procurement, escalating any items unable to meet required delivery deadlines.
- Follow up on delayed items, incorrect or missing documentation, incomplete requisitions, and unresolved supply issues.
- Attend daily operational briefings and planning meetings, contributing to fleet readiness and operational decision-making.
Key Skills & Experience
- Background in a material management or supply chain role.
- Strong experience using SAP systems (SAP SP1, SAP HANA).
- Comfortable attending and contributing to operational meetings.
- Strong customer relationship management skills.
- Effective problem-solving abilities with the capability to identify and escalate risks.
- Experience producing supply chain reports and managing material-related data.
- Familiarity with EASA Part 145 regulations.
- Proficiency with material management tools such as Airnnav, Microsoft Excel, and MDS for P145 requisitions.
