Belcan Workforce Solutions are recruiting for a Scada Engineer - ADMS Energy systems. 12 month - Inside IR35 contract role. UK remote based with trips to UK & Europe offices as required.
We're looking for a Scada Engineer to connect our customers with our technologies and products. Our team is involved in ADMS (Advanced Distributions Management System) related projects, tackling problems ranging from analysing data to providing solutions for varied customer business requirements. Our product is deployed in distribution companies worldwide and is leading in the growing market of Energy Utilities. Our software solutions deliver reliability, productivity, innovation, and efficiency through a modular architecture, adaptive algorithms, predictive analytics, and a brilliant user experience.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the migration of SCADA systems into ADMS platforms.
- Leverage your expertise to ensure smooth transitions and integration of legacy systems into new ADMS SCADA environments.
- Install and configure SCADA simulation systems to support testing, training, and operational simulations.
- Ensure accurate modelling of SCADA environments to meet system requirements.
- Handle the installation and configuration of Front-End Processors (FEP) and Enhanced Front-End Processors (EFEPS), ensuring seamless communication between SCADA systems and remote devices.
- Conduct thorough SCADA testing, validating the system's functionality, performance, and reliability.
- Identify and resolve issues, ensuring the system meets operational requirements.
- Provide expert consultancy to clients, delivering workshops and training sessions to enhance their understanding and utilisation of SCADA systems.
- Share best practices and ensure clients are equipped to manage and optimize their SCADA environments.
- Lead the deployment and commissioning of ICCP (Inter-Control Centre Communications Protocol), ensuring proper integration of multiple control centres and seamless data communication.
- Stay current with emerging SCADA protocols and technologies, continuously expanding your knowledge to ensure the implementation of the latest best practices and industry standards.
Required Skills & Experience:
- Extensive experience in ADMS SCADA migration and integration.
- Proven expertise in the installation and configuration of SCADA simulation systems.
- Solid knowledge of Front-End Processors (FEP) and Enhanced FEPs (EFEPS) installation and configuration.
- Strong hands-on experience in SCADA testing, troubleshooting, and optimisation.
- Experience providing consultancy, workshops, and training to clients on SCADA systems.
- Practical knowledge of ICCP deployment and commissioning.
- Passion for learning and staying updated on new SCADA protocols and technologies.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication and customer-facing skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with a variety of SCADA protocols (e.g., IEC 61850, DNP3, Modbus, etc.).
- Experience with SCADA systems in the energy or utilities sector is a significant advantage.
- Any experience working with ADMS, OMS, and DMS systems in utility or energy sectors.
- Relevant certifications in SCADA systems, ADMS, or energy management technologies.
- Ability to work independently and in cross-functional teams.
