Belcan Workforce Solutions is recruiting an experienced Materials Engineer to join the materials and processes team of a leading aerospace organisation in Filton. This long-term contract offers competitive hourly rates and the opportunity to work on cutting-edge aircraft structures and surface technologies that support more sustainable, efficient operations.
As part of a multidisciplinary materials, processes and test function, you will take ownership of corrosion protection and sealing concepts across multiple aircraft programmes. You will contribute to the development, qualification and deployment of surface technologies, provide expert support to in-service and production issues, and ensure that materials and processes remain compliant with environmental, health and safety requirements (including REACh). You will also drive continuous improvement projects that enhance performance while reducing cost and lead time.
To be successful in this Materials Engineer position, you will bring strong experience in corrosion, surface technology and aerospace materials, ideally gained in the aerospace or automotive sectors. You will be comfortable working with metallic and composite structures, coatings and sealants, and with laboratory test methods such as salt spray, corrosion and paint performance testing.

Essential requirements:- Proven industry experience in corrosion protection and surface technology
- Background in materials science, chemistry, chemical or materials engineering (or equivalent experience)
- Surface technology experience
- Hands-on knowledge of metallic and composite materials, coatings, sealants and associated testing
- Material Testing experience: Salt spray, corrosion test, Volvo test and paint coatings
- Ability to work effectively in a multi-location international team with strong communication skills
- Eligibility for BPSS+ security clearance; due to export control regulations (ITAR), certain nationality restrictions may apply
