This is a site-based role operating inside IR35, offering the chance to play a key role in the commercial and contractual management of a large-scale infrastructure programme.
Role Overview As the Senior Quantity Surveyor / Commercial Manager, you will lead the effective management of contractual and commercial activities across the project.
Working closely with project and operational teams, you will identify risks and opportunities, manage change, oversee subcontract administration, and ensure all contractual correspondence is issued accurately and in line with best practice.
You will also contribute to reporting, forecasting, procurement activities and commercial governance, helping to drive successful project delivery.
Key Responsibilities Lead the management and issuance of contractual notices and correspondence.
Identify and manage commercial and contractual risks and opportunities.
Maintain variation, delay, extension of time and claims registers.
Support monthly valuations and applications for payment.
Produce tender negotiation reports and commercial documentation.
Prepare monthly cost reports, forecasts and contract budget reports.
Manage subcontract packages from award through to final account.
Monitor procurement activities and commercial comparisons.
Reconcile labour, plant and material expenditure against budget.
Support change management and value reporting processes.
Participate in risk management activities and workshops.
Essential Requirements Proven experience delivering large-scale civil, mechanical, infrastructure or non-infrastructure projects.
Experience as a Quantity Surveyor, Commercial Manager or similar.
Strong commercial management and contract administration experience.
Ability to adapt to digital reporting and evolving commercial management practices.
Proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement.
Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
Confidence to challenge project teams and drive accountability.
Full Membership of RICS/CICES or nearing completion of membership.
