At Belcan Engineering, we're expanding our team and are currently recruiting Marine Design Engineers across all levels - from Graduate through to Senior - to support a range of exciting naval ships projects. For our experienced hires, we're particularly interested in Engineers with FORAN experience within marine environments. For those at Graduate or Junior level, a degree in Mechanical Engineering (or similar), alongside exposure to a complex engineering environment, would be highly beneficial. Key Responsibilities of a Marine Design Engineer
- Detailed Engineering Design & Documentation
- Develop and produce high-quality engineering drawings, accurate 3D models, and comprehensive technical specifications using advanced CAD tools.
- Carry out detailed calculations, tolerance analysis, and material selection to ensure robust, safe, and compliant designs.
- Lead and contribute to design reviews, ensuring consistent adherence to Belcan's Quality Management System (QMS).
Required Skills & Experience
- Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Marine, or related engineering discipline (or equivalent professional experience).
- Experience within a marine engineering or defence environment.
- Proficiency in 3D modelling CAD software and working knowledge of engineering analysis tools (e.g., FEA, tolerance stack-up).
- Strong appreciation of environmental impacts and sustainability considerations in engineering activities.
