Senior Construction Manager
Location: Crawley, London
12 month Contract
An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Construction Manager to join a major highways and infrastructure project. Working as part of the senior leadership team, you will oversee construction activities from early site investigations and design collaboration through to delivery and handover.
Key Responsibilities
Reporting to the Project Director, you will lead all construction activities across the project lifecycle, ensuring works are delivered safely, efficiently, on time and within budget. You will work closely with design, commercial, quality and SHE teams to ensure buildability is considered during the design phase, while managing engineering teams, subcontractors, site investigations, mobilisation activities and project delivery. You will also support planning and procurement activities, drive a strong safety and quality culture, and ensure all project documentation and handover requirements are successfully completed.
Requirements
- Degree or HND in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
- SMSTS and a valid CSCS Card.
- Minimum of 10 years' experience in construction delivery, including at least 3 years in a management role.
- Strong knowledge of civil engineering construction methods, standards and temporary works procedures.
- Experience working within a principal contractor environment.
- Ability to lead engineering teams, subcontractors and site operations while delivering projects safely, on time and within budget.
- Highways, local authority or strategic road network experience would be advantageous.
- Knowledge of approvals, consents and asset handover processes is desirable.
- Chartered Engineer status, professional membership, or Temporary Works Coordinator/Appointed Person qualifications would be beneficial.
An IR35 assessment for tax purposes is required for this engagement. In order to determine the Limited Company's correct IR35 status, an individual Limited Company assessment will be required
