Bela Recruitment has a new permanent job for a Field Sales Engineer covering the West of Northern Ireland.
The Company: A fantastic local company, which sells specialist industrial equipment, used in virtually every factory across Northern Ireland. They have the dealer rights to over 2 dozen big brand names. They can sell, install, provide 24/7 maintenance works, serviced contracts, sell spares and consumables and provide audits and energy saving assessments on existing equipment. This business has limited competition in NI and is known for selling high quality products and services.
Responsibilities: We are keen to find someone with an engineering background to join as a Field Sales Engineer. You will learn this company’s products and services, then sell solutions to new and existing manufacturing clients in your area, which is west of the Bann River, in NI. You will grow business within your area by sourcing new sales opportunities and increase market share and sell across the full suite of products and services on offer. Equipment sales could range from £500 - £1m+, service contracts could range from £1000 - £300k+. A new sale could grow from selling spares or service work to building longer relationships and selling a full replacement equipment in time. Help convert pay-as-you-go customers towards service contract customers. Learn products, so you can produce a high level of product and systems technical knowledge to clients. Provide a solutions sales approach, advising clients of best fit and energy efficient products to meet their needs. Provide proposals and quotations to new and existing clients – sales admin team will support you. Work with other teams to transfer from leads to quote to sales to delivery to installation to payment. Conduct site surveys, gather current equipment data plates, investigate site operations, identify energy reduction opportunities and present solutions.
Requirements: Ideally some form of B2B sales experience, selling a technical product, equipment or solution. Engineering or Manufacturing qualification. This might suit someone who has qualified in one of these subjects but now wants to follow a career in field sales, without having to travel globally. Ability to learn equipment specifications, technical knowledge and conduct site surveys – training will be provided. Strong IT, communication, organisation and relationship skills. Must have driving license and ideally live in the western half of NI.
Rewards: £30,000 - £35,000 – Salary will grow in years ahead. Performance Commission – realistically about £5000 in year 1. However, it will become much bigger after year 1. Big item sales have a longer lead time, the longer you are in the job, the bigger your pipeline and sales value grows. Company car and fuel card. On the job training and support programs.
