Bela Recruitment is recruiting a Packaging Manager in Co. Down, Northern Ireland. Salary £50,000 - £55,000 plus flexitime and amazing perks.

Key Responsibilities: As the Packaging Manager, this is more about managing packaging solutions and relationships than managing staff. You will have several key responsibilities, including:

  • Group Packaging & Supplier Management: drive improvements in all areas and manage relationships.
  • Site Support & Operations Collaboration: support internal teams on all packaging matters and support schedulers and buyers with forward planning.
  • NPD & Technical Collaboration: work closely with NPD, Technical and Process teams. Identify and advise on packaging risks, lead times, tooling and costs, as early as possible.
  • Production & Trials Support: support production on packaging issues, attend trials and signed off by relevant stakeholders.
  • Pricing, Costing & Governance: maintain & update packaging standards, vendor pricing etc.
  • Cost Savings & Value Engineering: identify & lead cost saving and Value Engineering opportunities.

Essential Skills & Experience: Proven packaging procurement or packaging management, ideally in a large food manufacturing setting. Strong knowledge of packaging materials (board, trays, films, labels) and the supply chain dynamics. Experience working in a matrix or group structure, balancing central strategy with site-level delivery. Strong stakeholder management skills across Procurement, Operations, NPD and Technical teams. Commercially astute with experience in pricing mechanisms, cost modelling and savings delivery. Organised, analytical and capable of managing multiple priorities across sites. Confident influencing suppliers and internal stakeholders at all levels.
