Bela Recruitment is hiring an Accounts Assistant / Bookkeeper in Donaghmore, Northern Ireland. This is a permanent job with a salary of £30,000 - £35,000 and a top tier healthcare package.

The Company

This local SME is a manufacturing company that is secure and growing. The position has opened due to a long-standing employee's retirement after 30 years of loyal service. They are keen to attract someone who can drive greater process improvements across all finance functions, making use of software to help automate tasks.

Job Responsibilities

  • Support the company accountant with a range of financial duties, focusing on streamlining processes and software integrations.
  • Support daily bookkeeping including Supplier & Customer Invoice Processing, Account Balances and Reporting.
  • Perform bank reconciliations and lodgements (cheques).
  • Manage weekly payroll for about 30 staff.
  • Support financial reporting and credit control improvements.
  • Prepare and report VAT for UK & ROI Intrastat Reporting.
  • Assist with year-end duties, TSS returns, employee expense processing, and grant reporting.
  • Other finance duties as required.

Requirements

  • Ideally have 3 years of commercial Bookkeeping or Accounts Assistant experience.
  • Some form of Accounts qualification or strong industry experience, ideally from manufacturing.
  • Ability and desire to drive process improvements and better use of software.
  • Strong experience with Sage50 and SageHR.
  • Strong Excel and MS skills.
  • Excellent communication and people skills; a team player.
