BEL Engineering, part of the British Engines Group, is a leading engineering service provider offering full process control of subcontract manufacturing services, with machining capabilities from 3mm diameter to 50 tonne components.
Apprenticeship Details
At the start of your apprenticeship, you will spend the first 20 weeks at TDR Training School in Longbenton. You will then join the team at BEL Engineering, in Walker, where you will spend four days per week in the factory while attending college one day per week. Specialising in mechanical engineering, you will build a portfolio of evidence throughout your apprenticeship to work towards a Level 3 Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering. Monday to Friday - Shifts to be confirmed.

- Developing hand tooling skills and CNC machining and programming skills.
- Learning advanced manual turning, milling, drilling and grinding skills.
- Producing parts using multiple CNC machining techniques and applying problem solving techniques where required.
- Learning the fundamentals of full in house production, quality systems and working towards leading class customer specifications.
- Measuring/checking parts and making adjustments so they meet required specifications.
- Checking documentation to customer specifications to adhere to quality standards and processes.
- Building your understanding of how businesses operate and the relationships between departments.
- Quality, Health, Safety and Environment (QHSE) training.
