Senior Quantity Surveyor sought, Exeter / Taunton. Are you an experienced Quantity Surveyor looking to take the next step in your career with a major UK construction and engineering business? We are recruiting for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join a well-established project delivery team based in either Exeter or Taunton, working between Plymouth and Bristol as needed. Daily responsibilities:
- Managing the commercial performance of multiple projects.
- Preparing and submitting applications for payment and valuations.
- Managing subcontractor procurement, payments, and final accounts.
- Producing cost reports, forecasts, and cash flow projections.
- Identifying and managing project risks and opportunities.
- Supporting contract negotiations and dispute resolution where required.
- Ensuring compliance with contractual obligations and company procedures.
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients, suppliers, and internal stakeholders.
- Mentoring and supporting junior commercial team members.
About You:
- Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor or Senior Quantity Surveyor within construction, engineering, M&E, infrastructure, or related sectors.
- Strong knowledge of standard forms of contract, including NEC and/or JCT.
- Excellent commercial acumen and financial management skills.
- Experience managing subcontractor accounts and client-facing commercial activities.
- Strong negotiation and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a team environment.
- Degree-qualified in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline (preferred).
- Membership of RICS or working towards chartership would be advantageous.
