Quantity Surveyor / Senior Quantity Surveyor sought, Burnley / Manchester. Bekk R Solutions are delighted to once again support this multinational property consultancy with the addition of a Quantity Surveyor / Senior Quantity Surveyor. The team are embedded within a prestigious manufacturing facility working nationally across the UK. You will be joining a multi-technical team delivering an array of projects on site, utilising NEC forms of contract. This is a unique opportunity to join a team embedded within their client team, supporting a wide array of works. Interested? Read on.

Day to day, you will:

  • Prepare activity schedules, resource schedules & analyses tender documents.
  • Provide commercial input to value engineering reviews for different projects.
  • Critically appraise, estimate and negotiate with 3rd parties where required.
  • Support and challenge the project teams in new tenders, providing commercial input and commercial adjudication to potential works (Go/No-go, CRB, etc).
  • Assist with seeking and reviewing potential new revenue streams and business opportunities.
  • Assist with the preparation of delay and disruption programmes.
  • Manage sub-contract management: Monitor activities, measure works and respond appropriately with applicable notices. Vetting of sub-contract terms, conditions and contract placement.
  • Analyse the commercial progress and report to senior project staff.
  • Be experienced in contract management: Issue and management of Early Warning Notices / EWN Register, Risk Register & Ownership, Compensation/Relevant Events and alike.
  • Manage commercial aspects with Customer and Stakeholders for their area of responsibility.
  • Undertake constructability analysis using construction programmes.
  • Prepare procurement programme and help develop the strategy.
  • Analyse rates & prices, agreement of variations and or compensation events as required.
  • Maximise entitlement and overall project value under the contract.
  • Undertake customer and stakeholder management for their area of responsibility.
  • Conduct monthly valuations, final accounts and post contract settlement including defects management.
  • Manage dispute management: Management of contractual disputes. Prepare, submit and negotiate claims when required.
  • Vet contractual terms & conditions in accordance with Integral house rules.
  • Manage cash management: Commercial processes involved with debt recovery, retentions and cash flow.
  • Prepare internal reports, commercial progress and financial reconciliation.
  • Manage HR/People aspects for direct and indirect reports (IDP’s etc).
  • Produce plans for team to achieve goals / aspirations.

What you’ll need to succeed:

  • Quantity Surveying & Commercial Management, Finance, Economics, Law or related field.
  • 7 years of progressive experience in commercial management, contract negotiation, or related roles.
  • Proven track record of successful contract negotiations and relationship management.
  • Experience gained in commercial environments demanding financial goals and business growth.
  • Experience with CRM systems and contract management tools.
