A leading UK contractor with a strong reputation for delivering high-quality construction and infrastructure projects is looking to appoint an experienced M&E Quantity Surveyor to join their growing team in Birmingham / Nottingham. You will be joining a growing internal MEP function working alongside a progressive MEP Commercial Manager. The Role
As M&E Quantity Surveyor, you will take commercial responsibility for the mechanical and electrical packages across a range of projects from pre-construction through to final account. You will work closely with operational teams, subcontractors and clients to ensure effective cost management and commercial performance throughout the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Managing the commercial aspects of M&E packages on live projects
- Procurement and management of specialist subcontractors
- Preparing valuations, cost reports and forecasts
- Managing variations, change control and final accounts
- Supporting project delivery teams with commercial advice
- Ensuring projects are delivered within budget and contractual requirements
- Identifying commercial risks and opportunities
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients and supply chain partners
Requirements
- Previous experience as an M&E Quantity Surveyor within construction or building services
- Strong understanding of mechanical and electrical packages
- Experience working for a main contractor or specialist M&E contractor
- Good knowledge of standard forms of contract
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities
- Relevant construction or commercial qualification preferred
