Purpose and Mission

As a Process Engineer, you will play a critical role in ensuring efficient, high-quality manufacturing processes across our Newcastle operations. Your mission is to drive right-first-time production, support operational excellence, and continuously improve processes — with a strong focus on technical integrity, safety, and performance. You will collaborate closely with Production, Quality, and Engineering teams to enhance product quality, eliminate inefficiencies, and deliver value to our customers.

Key Activities and Responsibilities

  • Support daily operations by providing technical expertise to Production and Quality teams
  • Drive a right-first-time manufacturing culture across both plants
  • Analyze production issues and lead root cause investigations with cross-functional teams
  • Identify process constraints and work collaboratively to improve capacity and efficiency
  • Lead and manage high-priority ('Red Alert') orders, ensuring all technical requirements are met
  • Conduct regular process and quality audits to ensure adherence to standards and best practices
  • Contribute to and support continuous improvement (CI) initiatives, focusing on waste reduction and standardization
  • Review and validate technical documentation and production orders
  • Support new product introductions and technical feasibility assessments
  • Act as a technical representative in customer complaint investigations
  • Ensure compliance with Health & Safety and Quality standards, promoting a zero-accident culture
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders (Production, Planning, QA, Engineering) to ensure on-time and high-quality delivery

Skills

  • Experience in manufacturing / process engineering / lean environments
  • Educational background in material science, metallurgy, mechanical engineering
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles
  • Good understanding of Health & Safety and Quality standards
  • Ability to communicate effectively across different levels and teams
  • Detail-oriented, proactive, and results-driven mindset
  • Basic leadership or team coordination experience
