III. Purpose of the Job
Ensure plant and machinery across site are available and reliable by proactively seeking to reduce plant downtime through due diligence. To assist in the reduction of downtime, SMED, continuous improvement initiatives, health and safety and project work
Salary: £39,785.22 Per Annum + Shift Allowance: £ 3,043.01 per annum.
II. Roles and Responsibilities
Principal accountabilities shall include but not be limited to:
- Work consistently within the remit of all company policies and procedures (Health and Safety, Quality, H.R. & environmental).
- Ensure full compliance to the Company’s quality / environment standards (ISO 14001 etc) and also any legislation applicable to our operations (HSE, waste, COSHH etc.).
- To carry out when requested Process Setup of equipment and assists in all SMED activities
- To carry out planned maintenance to the required standard and reactive maintenance when required.
- To be able to coordinate and cooperate with production supervision on a day to day basis, to ensure the smooth running and availability of plant and equipment.
- To actively support and engage in continuous improvement projects and ensures the sustainability of these activities through promotion of best operational practices.
- Continuous promotion of best H&S practice by coordinating audits, assist in SOP reviews.
- To proactively help reduce function accident statistics.
- To carry out project works assigned to schedule.
- Continuous promotion of best practice H & S by co-ordinating audits, SOP reviews, quality, and accident/incident investigation.
- From time to time may be required to work at other Bridon sites.
IV. Skills & Competencies
- Qualification Required: Educated to City & Guilds level or equivalent in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering.
- Set up and adjust machines, processes and equipment using SMED.
- Knowledge and implementation of both mechanical and electrical disciplines.
- Good understanding of PLCs and the ability to fault find with basic knowledge of programming.
- Skills: Fit and assemble metal parts, tools or sub-assemblies.
- Dismantle faulty equipment and assemblies and repair or replace defective parts.
- Check accuracy and quality of finished parts, tools or sub-assemblies.
- Experience Required: 2 Years of Working experience within preventative maintenance schedules to keep plant running effectively. Experience of working effectively within small teams in a manufacturing environment. Experience of doing general checks on machines.
- Sound proven practical experience of continuous improvement tools and communication skills to ensure a successful.
- Good understanding of HSE and Quality policies and their practical application.
