Are you organised, confident with people and able to keep things moving in a busy recruitment environment? We are looking for an HR Recruitment Officer to join our friendly Recruitment and Talent team on a fixed term maternity cover contract until 31 March 2027. The role is worked on a hybrid basis, with two days per week based in our city centre office in Sheffield.
This is a great opportunity for someone with experience of working in HR, recruitment or a similar role who enjoys variety, takes pride in accuracy and can deliver excellent customer service in a high-volume, fast-paced setting.
In this role, you will support recruitment activity from advert through to appointment. You will work closely with candidates, recruiting managers and stakeholders, providing clear and accurate information, helping people follow the right processes and making sure the experience is professional, inclusive and well organised.
We are looking for someone who can:
- manage a busy workload, multitask and prioritise effectively in a deadline-driven and changing environment
- work accurately, follow processes and work to instructions
- use a range of IT systems and digital platforms with confidence
- communicate clearly and professionally with candidates, recruiting managers and stakeholders
- provide helpful, accurate information and take ownership of enquiries
- promote equality, diversity and inclusion in the way they work and the service they provide
You will be joining a team that supports recruitment across the Council and helps managers attract, appoint and welcome new colleagues. Every day will bring different priorities, so you will need to be flexible, organised and able to remain calm and focused when working to competing deadlines.

If you are appointed to this role, your starting salary will be at the bottom of the grade. If you provide payslip evidence that your basic pay is greater than the bottom of the grade, we will consider starting you at the point of minimum advantage within the grade.
