An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Estate Officer to join the Housing and Neighbourhoods Service within Sheffield City Council.
We are looking for enthusiastic, motivated and customer-focused individuals to work as part of our Estate Services Team, supporting the delivery of high-quality services to tenants, residents and communities across Sheffield.
This role is an important part of our frontline Housing Service and will help ensure that communal areas and neighbourhood environments are clean, safe, welcoming and well maintained.
Working within a designated area of the city, you will contribute to improving the quality of life for our tenants and support the Council's commitment to creating neighbourhoods where people are proud to live.
About the Role
As an Estate Officer, you will work as part of a dedicated Area Team delivering a range of estate management and caretaking services.
- Cleaning communal areas of residential blocks and estates.
- Clearing refuse chutes and maintaining bin storage areas.
- Collecting and disposing of rubbish and fly tipping.
- Removing graffiti.
- Reporting repairs and carrying out post-inspections of communal repairs.
- Undertaking minor communal repairs.
- Delivering mail and notices where required.
- Maintaining communal outdoor areas, including weeding and shrub pruning.
- Operating vehicles, machinery and equipment safely.
- Liaising with tenants, contractors and partner organisations.
- Maintaining accurate records using handheld technology and digital systems.
- Supporting the development of local communities through effective partnership working.
The successful candidate may be required to work across different neighbourhood teams within the city to meet service demands.
