An exciting opportunity has arisen in the Children’s Involvement Service for a temporary Independent Visitor (IV) Scheme Co-ordinator for a 12 month period. We are looking for someone who is child centred, enthusiastic and with excellent interpersonal skills both with children and adults who would like to make a positive difference to the lives of children and young people in Sheffield.
The purpose of this role is to:
- Monitor and support a case load of matches between IVs and young people in care and care leavers
- Recruit and train volunteers to become Independent Visitor volunteers
- Work with young people to ensure they are matched with the right volunteer for them to build a relationship and have fun with
- Work with volunteers, advising and supporting them in their role as an Independent Visitor
- Work to the schemes policies and procedures

If you are appointed to this role, your starting salary will be at the bottom of the grade. If you provide payslip evidence that your basic pay is greater than the bottom of the grade, we will consider starting you at the point of minimum advantage within the grade.
