The main responsibility for the Facilities Manager, Distribution Centre UK is to oversee and guide the team responsible for Facility Management, Maintenance, and Security at the DC-UK site, ensuring adherence to all internal and external regulations and legislation in all aspects.
Your Tasks
- Leadership & Management: Leadership and management of direct reports, inspiring their decisions, direction, personal and professional development.
- Site Maintenance, Inspection & Testing: Ensuring the effective and timely Maintenance, Inspection and Testing (MIT) of equipment and the facility, ensuring the site runs effectively and efficiently for the day-to-day operation of the business. Facility Management of the building, liaising with the landlord on issues, ensuring upkeep of safety critical equipment on site. Review of performance through Process Safety Performance Indicators (PSPIs). Responsible for document management and digitalisation of these systems. As required tend to breakdowns of machinery and small maintenance tasks, including electrical work.
- Site Security: Responsible for the security of the site, leading the Security Team. Ensuring the cooperative working between Security and the Logistics operation, identifying improvements and implementing them. Ensuring site security for a high-hazard site.
- Finance: Managing of CAPEX and revenue budgets in area of responsibility, working alongside Finance colleagues to ensure good financial planning and sound decision making.
- Safety, Health & Environment: The DC-UK is an Upper Tier COMAH Operator (The Control of Major Accident Hazard Regulations 2015). All SHE topics are of the highest priority and close working with the SHE Team is essential. Essential policies such as Management of Change, Contractor Control and Permit-to-work must be at the forefront of working methods. A proactive approach to SHE topics must be present, completing leadership inspections and GEMBA walks, also involved in investigation of incidents. Has a continuous improvement mindset in daily decision making.
Your Profile
- Facilities Management experience within a Distribution Centre, Industrial or Production environment.
- Qualified electrician to BS: 7671:2022, IET 18th Edition Wiring Regulations.
- Experience in electrical installation, maintenance and testing.
- Experience in people management and strong leadership.
- Experience in Facility Management.
- Experience in basic maintenance tasks.
- Continuous improvement mindset.
- Proactive with identifying problems, finding causes, and providing solutions.
- Qualification in Safety and Health, minimum IOSH MS/SMSTS.
- A can do attitude, high degree of self-motivation, initiative, thinking ahead and driving results, leads by example.
- Good ability to communicate with a wide range of personalities.
- Computer literate i.e. proficient in Microsoft office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint).
- Experience within a COMAH regulated facility is desirable.
