Job Description

Senior Investigator – Contentious Insolvency Division

  • Hours: 9am to 5:30pm (37.5h pw)
  • Location: London – Hybrid (3 days in office and 2 days at home)
  • Contract: Permanent

Role

  • Investigate multi-jurisdictional insolvency cases and identify avenues of potential recovery against company officers and 3rd parties;
  • Conduct forensic reviews of company documents and accounting records;
  • Conduct financial investigations into the affairs of the Company;
  • Report on conduct of directors to Secretary of State;
  • Interview company officers and made enquiries upon 3rd parties and government agencies;
  • Identify potential heads of claims and compile evidence to support claims;
  • Create case reports;
  • Instruct and work with solicitors and counsel to draft relevant correspondence, statements, and applications;
  • Attend case management meetings;
  • Successfully obtain recovery on cases through settlement discussions, ADR, and trial;
  • Assist in training of junior members of staff

Requirements

  • Proven track record of conducting insolvency investigations;
  • Strong analytical skills;
  • Strong knowledge of and ability to apply relevant provisions of applicable legislation (IA 1986 CDDA 1986 and CA 2006) to case facts;
  • Strong drafting skills
  • Knowledge of core accountancy principles and an ability to understand and interpret statutory and management accounts;
  • Strong interpersonal skills;
  • Ability to build and maintain working relationships with relevant stakeholders;
  • Good communication skills;
  • Proficient in use of standard IT packages including MS Office (Excel & Word)
  • Understanding of UK tax regime
