Role Description
Reporting to the Marina Manager, the role involves:
- Undertaking general repairs, upkeep and upgrades to facilities for Beeston Marina Ltd, including buildings, mobile homes, moorings and grounds.
- Ensuring gates and doors are opened and locked prior to and after opening hours.
- Maintaining the site, including grass and hedge cutting, tree pruning, litter collection, painting and general maintenance.
- Assisting with reactive maintenance jobs, including basic plumbing, water ingress, basic electrical, and general property maintenance.
- Assisting with mobile home refurbishment.
- Maintaining tools and equipment to a good level of order, including site vehicles.
- Carrying out a variety of planned and reactive building maintenance tasks, including general building, joinery, tiling, painting, paving, external works, drainage works and plumbing.
- Working individually or as part of a team to complete repair and maintenance tasks.
- Adhering to Beeston Marina health and safety policy and procedures, identifying hazards and undertaking point of work risk assessments as required.
- Communicating effectively with building occupiers to minimise inconvenience when planning and undertaking building maintenance.
- Carrying out other duties as required or delegated by the Manager.
Qualifications
- Good standard of literacy and numeracy.
- Previous experience in building and grounds maintenance with basic skills in Joinery, Plumbing and basic domestic Electrics essential.
- Effective communication skills, with the ability to provide clear verbal and written information relative to building maintenance activities.
- Good time management with proven ability to meet deadlines and prioritise work as necessary to deal with multiple and competing demands on a regular basis.
- Excellent interpersonal skills for dealing with staff and customers at all levels.
- Strong collaborative approach and team ethic.
- Full UK driving Licence and the ability to drive a 3.5t vehicle (max 3 points).
- English and Maths to GCSE C Grade level or equivalent.
- Reliability - ability to work both on their own and as part of a small team.
