Beechwood is a Charity based in Stockport, established in 1990 to support people from across the Northwest affected by cancer.
Our team of professionals are available to help with the shock of diagnosis and the emotional effects of treatment, complemented by a wide variety of practical support – not only for the person directly affected but family too.
The Charity’s services are free of charge at point of need, and we offer a package of support tailored to suit the individual, including one-to-one counselling, clinical hypnotherapy, mindfulness, complementary therapies, support groups and workshops – to name but a few.

The Marketing and Relationships Manager is responsible for leading the Charity’s marketing, communications, and stakeholder engagement activities to increase awareness, strengthen our reputation, and grow support for our work.
This role develops and delivers effective marketing strategies, oversees digital and print communications, and builds strong relationships with supporters, partners, funders, volunteers, and the wider community.
Working collaboratively across the organisation, the postholder will identify opportunities to enhance engagement, promote the charity’s services and impact, and support income generation through compelling campaigns and relationship management.
The role combines strategic planning with hands‑on delivery, ensuring all communications reflect the Charity’s values, brand, and mission while contributing to the achievement of organisational objectives.
- Key Duties and Responsibilities

- Social Media
- Write and schedule all social media posts across Facebook, Instagram and Linked In.
- Ensure all social media is relevant and always reflects the Charity positively.
- Develop the Charity’s social media presence and use analytics to assess performance in relation to campaigns and fundraising initiatives.
- Ensure all communications are well written, accurate and presented in a way that reflects the Charity’s image and purpose.

- Schedule regular communications to supporters via the Mailchimp platform.
- Design flyers and a services booklet to ensure the breadth of Beechwood’s services are communicated to all clients.
- Montior posters and flyers around the Centre to ensure all are up to date and relevant.
- Lead on the design and implementation of a Fundraising Pack (with input from the Senior Management Team) to be given to all supporters raising funds for the Charity.
- Manage the creation of a ‘library’ of Beechwood videos, ones that tell client’s stories and also informative films about the Centre and its services.
- Oversee the filming (external videographer) of Beechwood videos to ensure the content remains on point.
- Utilise the videos across a variety of marketing avenues to ensure maximum potential of the content created.

- Manage the website content to ensure it is relevant and up to date.
- Operate the back end via confident use of Word Press.
- Generate content through various mediums: videos, client testimonials, volunteer stories etc.
- Stakeholder Engagement & Partnerships
- Work collaboratively with the Management Team to identify and pursue joint working opportunities.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with funders, donors, and strategic partners.
- Be responsible for the effective stewardship of all Beechwood’s supporters, ensuring high levels of engagement and retention.
- Represent Beechwood Cancer Care at networking events and forums.
- Represent Beechwood confidently and professionally through external meetings, presentations and pitches, communicating the Charity’s work in a compelling and engaging manner.

- Beechwood is a small charity, with a small team and the role will require an individual to be ‘hands on’ and helpful within the broader team.
- To be familiar with the Charity’s policies and procedures and uphold them, especially those relating to Safeguarding and Child Protection, Health and Safety, GDPR and Equalities.
- Adhere to all charity good practice and fundraising codes of conduct.
