Family Liaison Officer Beechwood School 35 hours per week (8.00am – 3.30pm Monday to Friday) Term Time plus one week, plus Inset days Rate of Pay – NJC Scale 6, points 18-22 plus Outer London fringe allowance (e.g. pro-rata salary inclusive £26,469 – £28,222 depending on experience) We offer a generous annual leave entitlement for support staff Required ASAP We are looking for an ambitious, proactive and focussed person to work closely with our parents and carers, whether inside or outside school to help overcome students’ barriers to learning, to access education and achieve their potential. This will involve maintaining regular contact, visiting them in the community, putting interventions in place, liaising with relevant staff and professionals to ensure parents and carers are consistently engaged in students’ development and progress. You will be able to communicate effectively at all levels to resolve issues affecting students’ access to education therefore being purposeful in identifying and resolving problems and providing challenge where necessary. You will be confident about pursuing legal sanctions and acting as a witness in the event of proceedings. You will be computer literate and possess good data skills to be able to record the information received. Previous experience of working with children, young people and their families is required, preferably but not exclusively within an educational setting. You will need to be enthusiastic, committed to the values of education, have strong IT skills and be able to organise your work efficiently and effectively.
