Role Purpose
We are seeking a passionate and energetic Play Worker to join our dynamic team asbank staff for Holiday Club and the occasional term time Wraparound session whencover is needed.
The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic about working with childrenand able to create a fun, engaging, and inclusive environment.
You will be responsible for leading a range of activities for children aged 2.5 years -11, ensuring each child’s safety and well-being.
A passion for working with children andproviding inclusive, fun, and engaging activities for the children in your careis essential.
Alongside this, you will inspire them to explore their interests, assisting withthe planning and delivery of games and activities.
This will include multi-sports, indoorand outdoor games, arts & crafts, downtime and structured play; therefore, enthusiasm and organisation skills are essential!
You will be responsible for ensuring the safety and enjoyment of the children in yourcare.
All team members are required to follow specific policies and procedures, including accident and incident reporting, as well as health and safety checks asrequired.
It is important to note that the children and families also benefit fromconsistent, reliable team members through the positive relationships that are built.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver a safe, engaging and enjoyable wraparound care and holiday club experience for children aged 2.5 to 11 years.
- Plan and lead a variety of inclusive activities, including sports, arts and crafts, educational games and structured play.
- Supervise children at all times, ensuring their safety, wellbeing and positive behaviour.
- Create a welcoming environment where children can learn, develop confidence and have fun.
- Build positive relationships with children, parents, carers and colleagues.
- Support the day-to-day operation of the wraparound and holiday club provision.
- Maintain accurate attendance and activity records as required.
- Assist with the preparation of resources, equipment and activity plans.
- Administer first aid when required and complete associated documentation.
- Safeguard and promote the welfare of children, following all school policies and procedures.
Person Specification
- Experience working with children or young people.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to build positive relationships with children, parents and colleagues.
- Flexible, organised and able to work both independently and as part of a team.
- A positive, energetic and nurturing approach.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and act professionally at all times.
- GCSE Grade C/4 or above in English and Maths (or equivalent).
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
- Previous experience in a school, childcare, holiday club or wraparound care setting.
- Experience planning and delivering activities for children aged 2.5-11 years.
- Competent user of Microsoft Office applications.
